Riverside Park

Hang, swing, and jump in this exciting and athletic environment! Along Manhattan's west side sits Riverside Park South, a staple greenspace in the Big Apple. Working together with Abel Bannison Butz Landscape Architects, the SPEC team was incredibly excited and proud to bring this urban, active space to New York City. Part of a project to include better pedestrian and bike access and revamp the entire area, this parkour play zone replaced an otherwise completely unused area, activating the dead space beneath the west side highway. The top of the line Lappset parkour elements give adults and kids multiple opportunities to test their strength and balance in a challenging but safe environment. Using lots pops of color, the parkour park fits it perfectly with the urban fabric of NYC.
