Alvarado Elementary School

SPEC Play worked alongside New Haven Unified School District and Alvarado Elementary School to bring a new play space to campus just in time for the start of the school year.

The playground is a major upgrade from the previous space, giving students of all abilities exciting ways to play. Ramps provide easy access throughout the play structure, while plenty of interactive play panels offer play opportunities at multiple levels. The 360 Loop Slide & Climber adds another accessible way for students to climb and slide.

Balancing activities, spinning, hanging bars, outdoor musical instruments and retreat areas underneath the play structure provide a variety of ways to play. A sensory Serenity Spot, designed for all children with a special focus on children on the autism spectrum, offers an additional space for a quieter play experience.
