Richard Simpson Park

Richard Simpson Park in Arlington, TX reopened in August 2025, and we’re excited to share the upgrades! SPEC Play is proud to bring together our partners at WholeTrees, Berliner, Duncan & Grove, Lappset Group, and USA Shade to create a nature-themed, shaded waterfront playground for ages 2–12.

From Duncan & Grove swings to Berliner embankment slides, a Lappset Flora playhouse and slide, and WholeTrees log elements, all on colorful safety surfacing. Truly designed for little adventures!

Richard Simpson Park is a 9-acre community park along the shoreline of Lake Arlington and one of only two parks in the city that offer public access to the lake for recreation. The Phase II improvements bring a new parking area, a nature-themed playground, pavilions, walking trails, exercise and picnic stations, an outdoor plaza, updated landscaping and irrigation, and a new dedicated covered fishing pier.
